1st May 2011. Black Cover 2 dives.

We welcomed Stephane from France to join us for a 10 Dive pack. He was joined by Tanya, John & Neil and went for 2 lovely dives at Black Cove. These dives were nice and relaxed and the visibility was good all round. The first dive was on the deeper side whilst the second was to the Moon Pools.

2nd May 2011. Drift dive Jonny's Point.

We had a nice drift dive at Jonny's Point this morning with Mary, Neil, Jonny, Tanya, John & Stephane. Although the visibility was not as good as we expect here in Tenerife, we still managed to find some Fang Tooth Moray, Snake Cucumber, Gully Jacks, Spanish Dancer & Red Reef Lobster.

San Miguel Wall Sting Rays.

With permission from the Submarine Safari's, we went down to see the Sting Rays. Tanya & John were on their last dive and they were joined by Rachel, Jonny & Stephane. Neil was on the shallower side with Joe. We found 2 large Atlantic Black sting Rays and a small common Ray. Everyone was delighted with their dive.

3rd May 2011. Yellow Mountain.

Neil & Stephane went along to Yellow Mountain Marine Reserve for a pleasure dive. Stephane thought the rock formations here were beautiful and was also very pleased to find a Angel Shark. Although late in the season for Angel Sharks, the water temperature is still cold enough for them.

House Reef.

Rachel was out with Stephane whilst Neil was diving with Sue, who was back for another go in the sea. Sue managed to do the dive well and has even booked in for later in the week.

4th May 2011. El Puertito.

Stephane, Stephen, Rachel & Neil went along to El Puertito to find the Turtles. The visibility was very good and we managed to find the baby Turtle who was happy to pose for pictures.

New Site Black Cove.

Stephane was still on his 10 dive pack and so they decided to go down to Black Cove, only this time Neil went to look at another side of Black Cove. This dive was very beautiful and a little deeper than we are used to at Black Cove. We will be back down there soon to have another look and see what we can find.

Night Dive

Our ever so popular night dives are still in full swing, although getting later with each day!. It was the turn of Stephane, Stephen & Morgain this evening. This was the first night dive for Morgain and she really enjoyed herself. Well done Guys.

5th May 2011. Poris Pier

Nigel was back with Amarilla Divers after a few months back in the UK. We went along to Poris Pier where we often find Sea Horses. This was told in the brief and NIgel, who has been diving for 30 years, said he has NEVER seen a Sea Horse. So Neil, Stephane, Stephen & Nigel jumped in. There in 3 meters of water at the entry point was a lovely little Sea Horse just waiting for Nigel. They also went down to the caves and had a few pics there.

Abades Beach.

The second dive of the day was at Abades Beach. The visibility here was as good as ever and the dive was great fun. The life on the reef was in full swing and fish were everywhere.

6th May 2011. Poris Beach.

Nigel & Stephen were on their last dives of the week and went to Poris Beach with Mick. They had an hour long dive and covered loads of ground. They found a sleeping Angel Shark, some rays and loads of local fish.

Discover Scuba Diver

Rachel & Neil were in the pool with Alex from Belarus for his Discover Scuba Diver Course. Alex did a great job with the skills in the pool. He was surprised and said he was more difficult than he thought and also the tank had a mind of it's own!!.

He had a fabulous time in the sea and has booked another dive in for a few days time. Well done Alex.

House Reef.

The afternoon dive was spent at the House Reef with Neil, Rachel, Dave, Jen & Sue. This dive went very well and Sue did a great job after not being in the water for a while. Looks like Sue will be advancing to Open Water soon.

7th May 2011. Open Water course.

Monica was back to complete her confined water training with Mary & Rachel in the pool. Monica is such a delight to teach and has the girls in stitches all day long. Monica did a great job in the pool and really loves the water. We are looking forward to now going to sea next weekend.

It was such a pleasure having Cami back with Mary & rachel in the pool to finish her Confined training. We are now looking forward to the rest of the open water dives.

Black Cove.

Alex was back for another dive and another dive site. Black Cove was the destination for today. This is a very good dive site and it has loads of life and is very diverse for all levels of diver. Alex had a great time and we think he may be slightly hooked on diving. Well done Alex.

10th May 2011. Black Cove Wall.

The New dive site at Black Cove wall was the place to be today with Neil , Jonny & Rachel. We have been investigating this site as could be a handy, close, easy dive with a little depth for courses. We will keep you updated on this site.

11th May 2011. Boat diving

We went off boat diving today with Jonny, Rachel & Neil. A new site out the front of Palm Mar light house. Now the site does have a name, however Neil has forgotten it !.. Well done Neil. Never mind I am sure we will be out there again soon.

19th May 2011. Dive Master training.

Mick was in the pool doing his Discover Scuba Diver work shop with Mary, Neil & Rachel. This went well and Mick is confident with his skill. We will be doing a few more workshops to get fluency. We also went through Rescue review with the guys and this also went extremely well and we will be assessing the rescue in open water soon.

20th May 2011. Black Cove

Simon & Neil went along to Black Cove this morning and as Simon has never dived this site before, we went along to the Moon Pools as well. This was a great dive and Simon liked it. There was quite a lot of life round today and the Moon Pools always has something to offer us.

20th May 2011. Open Water course.

Cami was back to complete her Open Water course with Mary. Firstly we finished the theory work before we jetted off to Black Cove for dive 4. Neil was on hand to take a few photos and we was also joined by Rachel. This was a great dive and we are very proud of Cami who successfully completed her skills with ease, well apart from the navigation !!... we will be working on that more in the future ! . Well done Cami we will be taking you to see the Turtles soon.

22nd May 2011. Abades Beach

Abades beach was the destination for this mornings dive with Neil, Simon & John. The visibility was great here and it was a lovely dive. John has dived Tenerife before many years ago but has been diving since 1964!!! wow.

23rd May 2011. Tabaiba Wreck

We took a drive to Tabaiba to dive the wreck with Neil, Jonny, Tony & Simon. The visibility was awesome today and also the little lilac Nudibranch's were back. The dive was great and there was loads of life around.

25th May 2011. Playa Paraiso.

After a long stay away from Playa Paraiso, we decided it was time to venture down the steps again!. This is a great site and always has lots to see. We swam out to the anchor and back along the wall and came across some Nudibranch's, Atlantic Sting Ray, Octopus, Bream and much more life. The visibility was good as well which made all the difference. A nice new site for our Dive Master Rachel.

Alcala Reef

The second site of the day and another new site for Rachel was Alcala. On the entry the visibility was not so great but we still managed to find the illusive Sea Snake that lives here. We also caught sight of the Turtles. Out on the reef the visibility was excellent and we found a couple of large balls of Roncadores, which is always a great sight.

26th May 2011. Santa Barbara Reef

Neil & Rachel went to investigate the Santa Barbara reef this afternoon. This is a nice dive and normally allows us to see the larger Atlantic Sting Rays. The visibility down here has been great and today was no exception with 40 meters plus. Good dive.

28th May 2011. San Miguel Wall

Irish Jonny was back for some pleasure dives, sow we went along the wall to see what we could find. We had some nice Anemones along with some large Trumpet fish. We hit the reef where the sting rays live and caught sight of the large Atlantic Sting Ray, an Electric Ray and some Moray Eels in the wall. There was also some Groupers, Nudibranch's and Cleaner Shrimps on the way too.
